Hong Kong & Langham Hotels

On this trip I travelled with Virgin Atlantic to Hong Kong and stayed in the Langham Hotel.  This was a very quick trip for only two nights, but the whole trip was about experiencing the service from these great products.Virgin Atlantic certainly delivered and exceeded my expectations.  We travelled in Upper Class and were greeted with Champagne.  The comfort packs were then delivered along with a set of pyjamas for each passenger in the business class cabin.  The crew member also went through the functions and the facilites available to each seat – so it was fun to try everything out.  When it came time to sleeping, the crew come along and turn your seat into the bed.   A softy cushiony mattress is placed down and you have a nice duvet to settle under.  It was very comfy indeed.

On arrival in Hong Kong we were whisked away to the Langham Hong Kong Hotel.  There are 2 Langham properties in Hong Kong – the other being at Mong Kok, near to the ladies market.

I really enjoyed the Langham hotels, and we saw both of them.  Whilst they are international standard properties I felt them to be a bit girly – which was totally fine by me.  Everything was pink and/or white.  Not sure how a male corporate traveller would like it so much, but apart from the colourscheme, it was a comfortable stay.  When we arrived into our rooms, we had a welcome plate of a chocolate in the shape of a pink shoe – almost too nice to eat.  I love the Langham hotels as a brand and this hotel certainly lived up to its name.

Although it was a very quick trip to Hong Kong, we also managed some shopping and sightseeing.  With the obligatory trip to The Peak and a trip on the Star Ferry to Hong Kong Island.  Hong Kong is a destination that offers so much: shopping, history, culture and fun.  It is a great destination on its own or as a stopover whilst en route to further afield.
